You can use the drivers from the i-tec USB irDA adapter because it has a SigmaTel chip. The drivers are located on its official website under the Downloads tab. Make sure to download the drivers for the version of your Windows 7 (32 or 64bit).
I have a Windows XP SP3 Dell Latitude D650 computer with the following audio configuration:
Driver Provider: Sigma Tel; Driver Date: 11/15/2004; Diver Version: 5.10.0.3952; Driver Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher.
I need to update the driver because I can't control the tone (Bass/Treble, Equalizer). The bass and treble are greyed out. Can you help?

In order to fix the issue, download the update released on November 3, 2011. Once you download it, press Windows + R key combination, type devmgmt.msc and click OK. Expand the sound, video and game controllers list, right-click on the audio driver and select Update Driver Software. Use the Browse option to navigate to the downloaded package, select the driver and install it following the on-screen instructions. If you still have problems, use the contact information from the official web page to get in touch with the support team. Alternatively, try controlling the sound on your computer using a utility from Software Informer database.
I can't listen to any voice from my lab, but when I plug my headphones I can't listen to anything! Please help me. I know my problem comes from this program. The system of my laptop is Windows 7.

In many cases, audio switching is automatically set up when you plug in a headphone or a surround system. But if this is not happening, you need to proceed using the manual way. Insert the jack into the default headphones port (usually the green one) then use the application to configure the port. Select headphones and you should hear sound.
I have installed this driver on my Windows XP that has a SigmaTel STC9200x5 audio but it still doesn't work. Any other suggestions? There is an exclamation marks in SigmaTel High Defintion audio codec in Device Manager. I downloaded the driver R90698 but I don't know why the installation stops. I can't listen to any voice from my lab.

There must be something wrong with the driver package because your computer uses SIGMATEL STAC 92XX as the audio driver. Try downloading it again and make sure that the component is enabled in Device Manager.
My audio device is connected to the computer, but I have no sound coming from headphones or speakers. I think that I don't have a driver installed. When I'm trying to adjust the volume the option is not even highlighted. What can I do?

Another victim of the Vista is a myth. Vista is better than XP you just need more RAM, but it's stupid to argue bescause Microsoft were stupid to put out an operating system that uses more resource than its predecessor.
Your driver problem can be fixed with a system restore back to a system restore back to before you installed the sigma tel and re-install the whole sigmatel.
By the way, if you have to get drivers for anything separately, then you probably have software that contributes to a spybot database without your knowing.
Yes, your Inspiron uses the same audio codec/driver but it's best to download it from the official website. Since your laptop uses SIGMATEL STAC 92XX, you can install this driver as it's compatible.
I have a Dell Vostro 1000, and it has the High-Def drivers. It has a mic out and a headphone out. I want to know if I can use the mic into a headphone port?

The easiest way to check if this is possible is by double clicking on the ports. If it's using HD drivers, you should be able to do this.
Since this audio codec has been installed into Dell products, you need to use Dell Support to identify your device. Then you can check the updates for your audio device. Enter the service tag found on the sticker attached to your device and identify your product.
