Whaddya mean, can't be installed? It's listed on my add/remove program list, and it takes a lot of MB storage, yet I never connect my 'puter to collateral sound equipment, and the laptop that this program is on is totally monophone! I wish to REMOVE it, I'm wondering if it will do anything to my "ordinary volume" "volume" meaning NOT area on the disk, but the loudness-volume volume. Help! If it's only needed extraneously, I would much rather have the storage space for more important things, at least, what I consider important. Anybody know? Please tell me before I remove it. Thx!

You can uninstall the program the following by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall a Program.
Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
When you find the program SigmaTel Audio, click it, and then do one of the following:
Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall.
Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove SigmaTel Audio.
